The Memorial Day weekend is expected to end of a gray and soggy note as folks living in the Tampa Bay area could see some thunderstorms Monday night.
While the sun has made brief appearances here and there this afternoon, the National Weather Service (NWS) says the Tampa Bay area could see showers, thunderstorms and "locally heavy rainfall" in the coming hours.
Rain will be on-and-off, with isolated thunderstorms between 4 p.m. and a little after 6 p.m. Monday evening.
The sun has started to peak out in some places, and this means that there will be more energy to work with as storms develop this afternoon. Showers, some thunderstorms, and locally heavy rainfall are our biggest concerns for the afternoon #flwx pic.twitter.com/MNFvPVZ6tn
