WESLEY CHAPEL, Fla. — Pasco County deputies are searching for thieves who stole firearms from unlocked cars in Wesley Chapel.

Deputies said between 10 p.m. on August 28 and 3 a.m. on August 29, three men burglarized five vehicles in Wesley Chapel neighborhoods including Ashton Oaks.

Three firearms were stolen.

"I'm surprised people leave firearms in their cars instead of like a safe place," said Stephanie Lugo.

Neighbors said deputies went door to door on Thursday night asking if their security cameras caught anything on it.

"Kind of scary especially having children and a wife and she leaves early in the morning usually, one reason why I got a camera," said Carlos Carrasquillo, neighbor.

Stephanie Lugo said her car has been hit twice. The latest theft happened last month.

"They took my wallet, all my credit cards, my license. I don't remember if I had cash in my wallet the first time," said Lugo.

Deputies urged people to lock their cars. They left business cards on some vehicles asking, "was your car entered?"

The Pasco County Sheriff's Office said if you can identify the people in this video call the Pasco Sheriff's Office Crime Tips Line at 1-800-706-2488 and reference case #18-34403 or 18-34409.
