No-cost health clinics offered for Pinellas and Hillsborough County kids this summer

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — The Florida Department of Health in Pinellas County starts its popular no-cost health clinics for kids in kindergarten through 12th grade on Monday, June 17.

The clinics are a great way to make sure kids are compliant with school requirements.

The medical, dental, vision, hearing and vaccination checkups are free for parents or guardians with limited income and no insurance.

The health exams will be provided by appointment only Mondays through Thursdays between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. on a rotating schedule at the following locations:

·Pinellas Park High School Clinic
6305 118th Ave N.
Pinellas Park

·Northeast High School Clinic
5500 16th St. N.
St. Petersburg

·Gibbs High School Clinic
850 34th St. S.
St. Petersburg

·Boca Ciega High School Clinic
924 58th St. S.
924 58th St. S.

To make an appointment, call (727) 824-6900 and select menu option 4.

Parents or guardians must bring the child’s immunization record and accompany the child to receive services. The last day for the no-cost clinics is Tuesday, August 13.

All children living in Pinellas County entering kindergarten on August 14 are required to present a school entrance physical, dated within one year of school enrollment.

Hillsborough County

The Hillborough County School District is holding seven health fairs in late July and early August where students in kindergarten through 12th grade can receive a free physical.

Free immunizations will be offered for children covered by Medicaid or who have no health insurance.

The fairs are occurring the following dates and locations:

  • July 27: Swindle Medical Center, Plant City
  • July 27: Lennard High School, Ruskin
  • August 3: Middleton High School, Tampa
  • August 3: Whitley Career Center, Tampa
  • August 3: Raymond James Stadium, Tampa
  • August 10: Blake High School, Tampa
  • August 10: Leto High School, Tampa
  • August 10: Sulphur Springs Health Center, Tampa (Walk-up immunizations only | 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. | More info: 813-307-8074)

Online pre-registration is required for the fairs on July 17 and August 3. You can register at www.back2schoolfair.org.
