TAMPA BAY — During the Tampa Bay Lightning season-opener, the team honored leaders of two nonprofits who kept food on the table for so many struggling families during the pandemic.
Thomas Mantz ofFeeding Tampa Bay and Tim Marks of Metropolitan Ministries are the first Lightning community heroes this season. They each received a check for $50,000.
Under the leadership of Mantz, Feeding Tampa Bay has been delivering two million meals every week across the Tampa Bay area. Feeding Tampa Bay stepped up to the plate to help those in need.
Led by Tim Marks, Metropolitan Ministries has provided more than $4 million in relief, including serving more than 50,000 families at its holiday tents.
Both say the money will help them immensely.
