A trooper was traveling southbound in the outside lane of I-75 in a 2016 Dodge Charger. The trooper came to a stop for other stopped traffic when a 2016 Ford SUV driven by an impaired driver failed to stop and rear-ended the patrol car. Trooper William Hale sustained minor injuries and was transported to an area hospital to be treated.
Billy Lee Floyd, 49, of Land O Lakes, was arrested by FHP and transported to the Orient Road Jail.
The right lane is blocked while troopers investigate.
