An air pollution precaution has been issued by the Environmental Protection Commission of Hillsborough County because of elevated levels of the pollutant ozone, according to a release from the Environmental Protection Commission.

The EPC is monitoring ozone concentrations during the day because there is a risk for unhealthy levels of the pollutant for sensitive groups.

Anyone with pre-existing respiratory ailments is being asked to consider reducing heavy exertion outdoors this afternoon and evening, the release says.

The alert remains in effect until dusk.

Tomorrow's weather is less conducive to ozone formation, according to the EPC.

Anyone with questions should call 813-627-2600 x1298.
