NORTH PORT, Fla. — Florida residents, like Brenda Hunt, are getting fed up wish SunPass.

She has 10 toll violations equaling more than $2,000. Hunt said she is refusing to pay because her vehicle has a working SunPass, which should have taken care of the past toll bills.

"I don’t owe it," Hunt said. "Bottom line, they want to take my time and money for violations that should have never been created in the first place."

Other drivers across the state have reported similar issues.

The issue was some transponders weren’t registering when a driver went though a toll, according to state officials. Governor DeSantis has suspended fees until June to give state officials time to find a fix.

Hunt is tired of getting fines and threatening letters in the mail. She said she has made calls to state agencies but hasn’t gotten any answers.

"I want them to take care of this it’s not my problem.”

Her family created a page for other SunPass users to share their stories.
