POLK COUNTY, Fla. — As part of our mission to help Drive Tampa Bay Forward, we're always looking for ways to you can help keep your neighborhood safe.
We found out that the Polk County Sheriff's Office is offering a "Drive Like Your Kids Live Here" yard sign for free.
To get the free sign all you have to do is go to the Polk County Sheriff's Office Operations Center at 1891 Jim Keene Blvd. in Winter Haven.
You can also have the sign delivered to your house by emailing crimeprevention@polksheriff.org or calling 863-298-6677.
There are some rules though:
- It's a temporary sign so it can only be up for 90 days.
- Must be setback from the roadway a minimum of 10 feet.
- Please do not place signs adjacent to major roadways, on public rights-of-way, near intersections that might affect visibility, or "every yard in the neighborhood."
