Polk County officials are proposing changing a road near Kathleen High School to a one-way road to protect kids who walk to school.
Officials want to make North Chestnut Road from U.S. 92 to S.R. 546 one-way northbound with an 8-foot wide multi-use path and a concrete traffic separator.
Over the years, many people in the area have called for better walking conditions for students.
Officials want input from residents and property owners in the area. There will be a two-week commenting period that ends on February 4th.
