BRANDON, Fla. — Hillsborough County is proposing improvements at the intersection of Lithia Pinecrest Road and South Miller Road in the Bloomingdale area to improve safety and traffic flow.

The County is recommending adding a westbound to southbound left turn lane on Miller Road, additional pedestrian safety features and upgrades to the traffic signal system.

Work also includes lighting, high visibility crosswalks and pavement markings at Bloomingdale High School, retiming 6 intersections and NB and SB bus pullout bays on Culbreath Road.

The goal is to reduce traffic congestion and improve safety for drivers, pedestrians and bicyclists as well as increase the overall mobility along Bloomingdale Ave while maximizing safety along the corridor.

The county is hosting a meeting on June 26, 2019 at 6:30 p.m. at the Bloomingdale Library in Valrico to discuss the Miller Road/Lithia Pinecrest intersection project. The meeting will have an open house format, with project displays available for viewing. Attendees can review, ask questions, and comment on the proposed design for the $356,000 Capital Improvement Project.
