Construction along Himes Avenue in Tampa is rerouting drivers to side roads while they do utility work on water and sewer mains in the area.
A viewer reached out to us about the detour on Spruce Street that is causing backups because of the light at Dale Mabry Highway at Spruce Street.
City officials tell ABC Action News they are aware of the issue and they have looked at the timing of the light at this location, however, they say it can take several days for traffic to normalize.
The city says this construction is part of the Midtown project.
The construction is expected to continue until December 20.
