It's no secret. We know there's a transportation issue in Tampa Bay.
The Tampa Bay Area Regional Transit Authority is looking towards the future.
At their Friday board meeting, Lilium, A German Air Taxi company, will be giving a presentation.
Bringing an Air Taxi to Tampa Bay is not a new idea but this would be Lilium's first presentation in the United States.
Their Air Taxi model could hold 4 passengers and 1 pilot, according to documents. Its speed could top out at 185MPH.
But, if the service ever does become a reality, don't expect it to be cheap, at least not yet.
Lilium's presentation shows while a trip from Tampa to St. Petersburg would take just eight minutes, it could cost $90.
But, getting to places like Miami or North Florida in about an hour could be ideal for a lot of people.
TBARTA will meet on Friday at 10 a.m. to hear Lilium's presentation. This is a very preliminary presentation and is simply to hear an idea for the future of transit.
