FlixBus, a low-cost bus service, is launching in St. Pete and relaunching in Tampa on Thursday.

ABC Action News reported on FlixBus in June when routes resumed between Orlando and Miami.

FlixBus officials decided to restart service in Tampa and start service in St. Pete now that business is picking up again.

“We’re really excited about the way things are going and that’s why we decided it was time to launch our Tampa to Miami route and we’re really excited to have St. Petersburg on the route for the first time,” said Joanna Patterson, Head of Business Development for FlixBus.

FlixBus will provide service in St. Pete four days a week: Sunday, Monday, Thursday and Friday.

The St. Pete stop connects to Tampa, Sarasota, Fort Myers, Miami and Fort Lauderdale. A connection is planned from St. Pete to Orlando, but no start date has been announced yet.

Ticket prices from St. Pete range from about $3 to Tampa to roughly $20 to Fort Lauderdale.

The bus will stop curbside on the south side of Central Avenue North & Dr. M.L.K. Jr St S and 8th St N.

The bus will board at the FlixBus sign near the Central Avenue Trolley stop.

FlixBus has health guidelines to keep passengers safe:

  • Buses will be disinfected after every trip.
  • Hand sanitizer will be available for customers at the front entrance of the bus.
  • Everyone, except for children under the age of two, is required to wear face coverings.
