The ramp takes you to I-4 and is about a mile sooner than the old ramp. It confused drivers Thursday morning as cars darted over to try and make the exit. It also caused slow downs in the area.
The 1 lane ramp is only temporary as construction crews work to get the new permanent ramp up and ready to go. The goal is to increase safety and traffic in the area.
The new 2-lane ramp will stretch more than a mile and will allow drivers heading eastbound and westbound on I-4 to be in separate lanes. The permanent ramp should be finished by the summer of 2020.
