HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. — After a delay in the project, crews are now working on the resurfacing of Bay to Bay Blvd. in Hillsborough County.
Hillsborough County officials tell ABC Action News that signs were put up on Monday and the concrete work starts on Wednesday.
The work is expected to be complete sometime in April.
On February 20, Commissioners voted to move forward with the project. Those in the community were hoping for a different outcome. They were hoping the county would delay the resurfacing and revisit the Complete Streets proposal.

Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn nixed the Complete Streets plan last year. The proposal would've turned Bay to Bay Blvd. into a two-lane road, with a designated middle turn lane. It also would've added bike lanes and traffic calming measures.
The county will be doing some ADA ramp upgrades as part of this process and re-striping existing crosswalks.
