Blocking a lane can earn you a pricey ticket

TAMPA, Fla. — As part of our commitment to help Drive Tampa Bay Forward, all week long we want to show you some of the most dangerous mistakes that are made on the road.

Former Florida Highway Patrol officer Steve Montiero posted this on Twitter:

See the white van blocking a lane so they can get in another lane?

That driver is actually breaking the law. You can be given a ticket with a fine costing $164.

Instead of blocking a lane, go to the light and make a U-turn or a few lefts.
