Overnight shooting puts several people in the hospital, deputies still looking for suspects

MANATEE CO, Fla- — Deputies are looking for 2 men they say shot multiple people late on January 1.

Around 7:52 p.m, a white Nissan Altima pulled up to a house in the 300 block of 21st Street West, Palmetto, and opened fire.

According to the sheriff, "Victim 1 was shot in his left buttock. Victim 2 was shot in his left foot, and the 3rd victim was hit with a bullet in his left leg."

They were transported to area hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.

Later that same night around 8:45 p.m deputies responded to a call of another shooting in the 700 block of 27th Ave W., Bradenton.

"A 16-year-old female had just been shot in the buttock and leg as she walked in front of a residence."

Witnesses told deputies that a vehicle fitting the same description of the earlier shooting drove by as multiple shots were fired. The victim was taken to a local hospital. She is expected to make a full recovery.
