PORT RICHEY, Fla. — The Florida Highway Patrol has arrested a Port Richey man in the death of a 31-year-old who was riding his motorcycle Sunday night.

Family members tell ABC Action News, Dustin Hogan was making a quick trip to the convenience store when, according to FHP, a car pulled in front of his motorcycle.

Troopers say Naserodin Shooshtari, 68, was drunk when he turned left on Embassy Boulevard at the intersection of Palm Avenue in Port Richey.

"It brings an innocent family to a nightmare situation," said Mark Poling. "We're still trying to figure out how to tell a 4-year-old that her daddy's not coming home."

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Pasco County saw a 12 percent increase in alcohol-confirmed fatalities from 2015 to 2016, the latest years data is available.

"We're just at a loss right now," said Poling. "We're just totally blindsided by this."
