TAMPA, Fla. — A local man is finally back in Tampa after being stuck in Peru due to the pandemic canceling flights left and right.
What was supposed to be a two-month-long vacation in Peru turned into a nightmare for Dan Underhill as he struggled to catch a flight back home to the United States.
Long before he was able to catch a flight home, Underhill told ABC Action News that he's spent hours on the phone with officials in Peru and America, and still has no idea how he'll get home.

He previously said his biggest problem was that the medication he needs for his medical condition (not related to the coronavirus) was not accessible in Peru.
Most of Peru was shut down, including the small airport in Puerto Malbrigo, where Underhill was stuck, during the pandemic.
