  • Florida now has over 4,000 positive coronavirus cases, according to the Department of Health

  • Gov. DeSantis said about 2,000 rapid 45 minute tests will be sent to South Florida
  • A Florida checkpoint on I-10 coming from Louisiana is in place. Gov. DeSantis hopes to have a similar checkpoint on I-95 for people coming to Florida from New York.

  • President Donald Trump says he is considering some type of an enforceable quarantine to prevent people in New York and parts of New Jersey and Connecticut from traveling.

  • Pasco County reports second COVID-19 death in the county

  • In its latest update, the Department of Health says there are 3,763 positive COVID-19 cases in Florida. Of those, 3,608 are Florida residents and 155 are non-Florida residents. There have been 40,250 total tests in the state; 35,366 negative results; 54 deaths and 526 people hospitalized. Officials in Florida have not released information on recovered patients in the state, but the DOH's interactive map lists the number of recovered cases in the U.S. and globally.

  • The Department of Health in Pinellas County reported three additional COVID-19 deaths; bringing the county's total to four. The patients were an 83-year-old female, a 64-year-old male and a 52-year-old male.
  • Currently, there are 3,198 positive cases in Florida. That includes 3,054 Florida residents and 144 non-Florida residents. There have been 30,766 residents to test negative and 46 reported. The DOH is expected to release new numbers at 12 p.m.
