Gov. DeSantis extends Florida's state of emergency for 60 days

TALLAHASSEE, Fla.(WTXL) — — Tuesday, Governor Ron DeSantis issued Executive Order 20-166, which extends Florida's State of Emergency for 60 days.

This announcement comes after Gov.DeSantis initially issued Executive Order 20-52 on March 9, declaring a state of emergency for the entire state due to COVID-19.

DeSantis said he is committed to providing all available resources and assisting all Floridians and our local communities with their efforts.

The move allows the state to continue accessing federal funds to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic.
