TAMPA, Fla. -- Three deputies with the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office have been placed on 14-day quarantines after they performed CPR on a person who tested positive for coronavirus.

HCSO responded to a call of an unconscious person at a home in Thonotossassa on Sunday, April 5 at 8:30 p.m. Upon arrivals, deputies found an unconscious man.

The three deputies performed CPR on the man and then used an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). The man was taken to the hospital for a possible overdose.

HCSO says test results from the hospital revealed that the man was battling pneumonia and family members told doctors he was not feeling well for the past week.

While at the hospital, the man tested positive for coronavirus, HCSO said in an updated press release.

HCSO says Sheriff Chad Chronister has been checking in with the three deputies who are now in quarantine.

Over in Tampa, a second TPD officer has tested positive for the coronavirus this week. TPD said on Monday night that both employees are "improving and doing well."
