LAKELAND, Fla. -- Two Wawa locations in the Tampa Bay area have temporarily shut down after their employees tested positive for coronavirus.

An associate who worked at the location on 4320 U.S. 98 N in Lakeland had received a positive test result, Wawa confirmed in an email to ABC Action News. Just minutes after ABC Action News received the update on the Lakeland location, a second Wawa location, this time at 3101 Gandy Boulevard in Pinellas Park, also had an employee test positive.

Wawa shut down both locations to have it professionally deep cleaned and disinfected. The gas station chain did not give an exact date on they will reopen.

The associate who tested positive for the virus last worked at the Lakeland Wawa on April 20. The associate who tested positive from the Pinellas Park location last worked April 25.
