NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla — There is a little clothing shop in Pasco County with a very big heart. Marjorie's Hope will be open this weekend and it's a place where everything is free for teachers.
There are designer dresses, shoes, jewelry and an entire section of men's apparel.
"It's amazing, I know we've made her proud. You'll get me emotional at the moment," Debi Shackowsky told Anchor James Tully, talking about the inspiration for her pop-up store, her sister Marjorie.
Debi explained that Marjorie was killed by a drunk driver 21 years ago.
Debi memorializes her sister and how charitable Marjorie was, with this store that bears her name.
"My thought is why hasn't anybody done anything, what are you waiting for, these people need help let's do it."
Money isn't exchanged here but sentiments like these are.
Debi took a moment to say this to all of the teachers shopping at Marjorie's Hope:
"If you're ever having a bad day in the classroom, remember today and how much you're valued."
Marjorie's Hope is open through Sunday, August 4 between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. It is located at 5228 State Rd. 54 in New Port Richey.
If you are an employee in the Pasco County School District, all you have to do is show your ID and take as much as you need.
