The CDC issued new guidance on Thursday that emphasizes schools reopening this fall, and they also created a school decision-making tool and checklists to help parents make the best choice for their family.

The school decision-making tool is made up of information and questions that weigh the risks and benefits of the available education options.
"Recognizing that there may be many unknowns, answer each question with a check in the column that most closely reflects you and your family today," the CDC's website says. "Multiple checks in the “Unsure” or “Disagree” columns might warrant a conversation with school administrators, your healthcare provider, or your employer."

The CDC also created back-to-school checklists that include things to consider with in-person classes, setting up virtual or at-home learning, and mental health and social-emotional points to consider for both options.
