Snowie is our second successful parvo treatment puppy. Parvo is a very dangerous, very contagious virus that primarily attacks puppies. Previously, parvo was pretty much an automatic death sentence.
Very few animal shelters treat parvo because it is so contagious. The Pet Resource Center decided to start a parvo program because there really was no other option for animals brought to the shelter.
We set up a special isolation room for parvo cases, and we sent a veterinarian to Austin, Texas, for special training. We have only recently started treating puppies with parvo.
Snowie here is an example of how this can work. She has now tested negative for parvo, is healthy, and will be up for adoption.
