New Medicare Cards Are Coming

Posted
and last updated

Since May, millions of people have received and are successfully using their new Medicare card. In August 2018, CMS will be mailing new cards to people with Medicare in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina. Everyone with Medicare in these states should get their new Medicare cards by the end of September. Each new card will have a unique new Medicare number—instead of a Social Security number. Removing Social Security numbers will help prevent Medicare fraud. While there’s a new card and number, Medicare benefits remain the same.

Angela Brice-Smith discusses the new Medicare cards as well as provide information on the card rollout on when people with Medicare in these states will be receiving their cards.
