Are you expecting a federal refund from the Internal Revenue Service after filing your taxes this season? There's a quick way to check the status of that return on the IRS website.

The IRS has a "Where's my Refund" tool to make it easy to check when you should expect your refund to show up.

According to the IRS, 90% of refunds are received 21 days or less from the date the return was accepted.

In order to get the status of your refund, you will need your social security number, your filing status and the exact refund amount.
