Local couple paid for a carpet cleaning package, but say they were charged extra

Last July Beth Fournier-Widmer saw an ad for Supreme Carpet Care that caught her eye. She bought the annual maintenance package which was to include carpet and tile cleaning once a year.

This customer paid the carpet cleaner in full, $629 last July. But when she started calling this past May to schedule the 2018 cleaning, the homeowner says the carpet cleaner changed the rules. Fournier-Widmer claims the owner told her over the phone it would be an additional $129 for the business to clean her floors.

This consumer says the company never gave her a contract and she had nothing in writing other than the check they cashed for $629.

After hearing her story we called the carpet cleaner. He explained it was a misunderstanding and that one of his staffers who normally deals with customers was out on medical leave.

Days after our call Supreme Carpet Care returned to the Widmer’s home to clean the tile. Looking back, the couple says next time they’ll get all the guarantees in writing.
