The new dentures cost veteran Joe Adkins and his insurer more than $4,000. The retired pastor says he gave it the college try but could not get use to the pain caused by the lower set.
Aspen Dental made several adjustments over a period of months but nothing worked and Adkins could not eat with the ill fitting teeth.
When he complained to his insurer they sent him to another dentist for a second opinion.
That dentist concluded the dentures did not fit property and were to blame for the pain.
After hearing his story we contacted Aspen Dental's corporate office and forwarded a copy of that second opinion. A spokesperson responded with this statement:
“Our patient satisfaction team has been able to reach the patient and is working with him to resolve his concerns.”
Aspen Dental then sent Adkins a check for $921 the total amount of payments he'd made on the dentures.
