Publix recalls ground beef, pork products from Polk Co. location due to possible presence of plastic or metal

LAKELAND, Fla. — Publix is recalling all ground beef and pork products sold at one of its stores in Lakeland due to "potential presence of foreign material (plastic or metal)."

The recalled products were produced at the Publix store in the Lake Gibson Shopping Center on June 1 and have a sell by date of June 3, according to the company's website.

The recalled ground beef and pork products include:

  • Ground beef
  • Ground pork
  • Meatloaf
  • Meatballs
  • Ready-to-cook meals containing ground meat and sold in the meat case

If you purchased any of the affected products listed above at the Lake Gibson Shopping Center location you're encouraged to return them to the store for a full refund.
