Let's do some child-proofing, especially if you have a pool in your backyard or an open fence.

Go to your local hardware store and pick up a flip door lock, it's designed to serve as a secondary lock that your children will not be able to reach to unlock.

Place the lock on the inside of your door frame at a height where your child cannot reach. Drive in two screws to keep it in place.

Now when the door is shut, the lock flips over and holds the door shut, making it impossible to open even if the door is unlocked.

It'll give you added security and peace of mind for a few dollars.

Items you’ll need: Flip door lock, power drill.
