TAMPA, Fla- — One person is confirmed dead after a Ford Expedition crashed into a garage.
On December 19 around 12 p.m., police responded to the 2600 block of W. Columbus for a car vs building accident. The police say the driver of the vehicle was headed south on Tampania when they ran a stop sign and into the garage.
Tampa Fire PIO Jason Penny and our team at the scene confirmed that two people were trapped inside the vehicle after crashing through the wall.
There was a partial roof collapse due to the damage, but Tampa fire was able to prop it up while attempting the rescue.
There were no injuries to anyone in the home however the driver of the vehicle is dead. The cause of the accident has yet to be determined.
