ST. PETERSBURG, Fla.—Bodega on Central is the perfect spot for some quick service, high quality Latin market food.
Bodega opened nine years ago in a tiny location right on Central Avenue in Downtown St. Pete, serving food from an order window. Last August, they moved a few doors down to a space where they can offer a dining room and bar—however people are still able to walk up to the window to order if they want to grab and go.
“People should come to Bodega because…we’ve got a line out the door every single day," said chef de cuisine Justin Collins. "And I think that kind of not only draws the crowd, but it shows that people are willing to wait just that extra few minutes for what we have to offer.”
Fan favorite dishes include the Lechon plate (mojo pork that is slow roasted for 12 hours served with grilled onions, rice, beans and maduros) and their award-winning Cuban sandwich. In addition to healthy juices and smoothies, they also serve guarapo, a refreshing drink made with fresh-juiced sugarcane and lime juice.
