ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Book + Bottle, a new independent bookstore and wine bar in Downtown St. Pete, opened its doors last week. The inside of the shop is closed due to coronavirus concerns, but people can still place delivery and curbside orders for their favorite wines and books!
“We are a bookstore with wine and a wine bar with books,” said St. Pete native Terra Dunham, owner of Book + Bottle.
People can place their orders by emailing info@bookandbottlestpete.com or calling 727-240-7448. Curbside pick up is available throughout the week, but delivery is only for St. Pete residents.
Book + Bottle is in the process of updating their website and book inventory, but you can check out this list to get an idea of what wines are in stock. People should feel free to reach out via phone or email if they’re looking for a particular book or bottle of wine.
And if you’re looking to spread the love and send a gift to your non-local friends, Book + Bottle will mail any book within the US with free shipping!
Dunham is big on offering suggestions and helping people find the right wine or book—and is excited to do this in-person once she can re-open the doors to her shop. In the meantime, people can check out Book + Bottle’s blog that features monthly book and wine pairings.
The blog started back in August. Dunham relies heavily on emotion when making these pairings—she tries to find stories and types of wine that elicit the same feelings. “When I read a book, obviously you’re full of emotion with the story and characters…and that’s how I feel about wine too.”
Even though Dunham launched this business during this difficult time, she has seen an outpouring of support from the St. Pete community.
“It’s so…moving how generous everybody is and how much they believe in this community, and not just me, but the community as a whole,” said Dunham. “It’s always the time to support small local independent businesses, but now more than ever.”
Once everything settles down and the inside of the shop opens, guests can enjoy coffee, food and a variety of events, like author talks, book readings, wine tastings, classes, workshops and a Book + Bottle hosted book club.
Book + Bottle is located at 17 6th Street North in St. Pete. The store is closed on Mondays, but you can pick up your orders between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday.
