TAMPA, Fla. — A local distillery has launched cannabis-infused vodka and gin and they promise it doesn't taste like "bongwater," according to a press release.

Fat Dog Spirits Distillery, located in Tampa, has created a cannabis-infused specialty brand called Nirvana. All products are traceable from field to bottle and only the finest organic and non-GMO ingredients are used, including the finest Hemp, according to a press release from the company.

Dr. Ram Ramcharran, CEO of Fat Dog Spirits, is fighting back at a recent Wall Street Journal article that claims cannabis beverages taste bad. “This is simply not true with our product,” says Ramcharran. “I challenge anyone to try it and tell me that it tastes like oil or a ‘barnyard,’ as the WSJ article states!”

Dr. Ramcharran does admit that the WSJ article is generally correct in its assertions but he says their reviews and customers are saying the opposite.

The distillery says the vodka and gin are naturally rich, crisp and clean. Distributors are also seeing a marked increase in orders as consumers are starting to notice the product.
