ST. PETE BEACH, Fla.—Not only can you grab a drink and sit down for a delicious meal at RumFish Grill, but you can take part in a snorkeling experience that showcases what the Gulf of Mexico has to offer.

Swim with the Fishes is an immersive program available at the beach-side restaurant. For $40 per person, guests can get in a 33,500-gallon tank and snorkel on the surface with more than 30 species of fish and aquatic life native to the Gulf.

The tank was featured on Animal Plant’s TANKED and takes up one of the walls inside the dining room.

Previous snorkeling experience isn’t required, but basic understanding of snorkeling equipment is requested. Guests 8 and older can get in the tank (children 8-12 should be accompanied by an adult) and must stay on the surface at all times. Snorkels, masks, life vests and footwear are provided.

Swim with the Fishes is offered Thursdays through Sundays at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m depending on the day. To sign up for a session, click here.

In addition to snorkeling, you can also check out RumFish Grill’s Gulf-inspired menu, featuring healthier options. The cuisine coincides with what is happening in the Gulf of Mexico, making sure the fish chosen for the menu won’t throw the eco system off balance.

RumFish Grill is located at 6000 Gulf Blvd as a part of TradeWinds Island Resorts on St. Pete Beach.
