TAMPA — The Florida Aquarium and Coppertail Brewing Co. are launching a new beer to help save endangered sea turtles.

The Sea Turtle Sour is a sour wheat beer brewed with key limes grown at the Florida Aquarium.

One dollar from every pint sold will help fund the Aquarium's mission including the rescue, rehabilitation and return-to-ocean programs of endangered and critically endangered sea turtles in Florida and across the U.S.

The limited release beer will be available at Coppertail Brewing Co. beginning Friday and while supplies last.

Friday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., Coppertail Brewing Co will have a launch party where guests can experience the first pour of Sea Turtle Sour. There will be surprise animal encounters, custom-made beer glasses for sale and food and drinks available for purchase.

This is the second of three planned brews to be released this year. In May, Coppertail Brewing Co. and The Florida Aquarium launched their first collaboration beer creation named Coral Haze. Coral Haze was a hazy pale ale brewed with calypso hops, as well as hops grown at The Florida Aquarium.
