SEMINOLE HEIGHTS, Fla.—Dress up, play detective and eat some tasty snacks—sounds like my kind of Halloween!
Mystery at 5120 is a new event in Tampa this year that combines a “Who Done It” game with an escape room for some spooky fun. The event takes place at Margoza’s Galleon—an eerie house in Seminole Heights that’s full of artwork and oddities.
Guests will work together to solve the case of a missing person—Dr. Lester Hearse has disappeared, and his children may know what happened. The goal is to search the house for the clues that they left behind to unravel the mystery…
This scenario takes place in the 50s, so guests are encouraged to come dressed for the theme “Film Noir”. Before the event starts, guests can eat, drink and mingle in the dining room. Then, they have one hour to figure out who had a hand in the doctor’s disappearance.
“What sets this game apart? Obviously just the venue itself,” said event host, Amy Walsh. “The house actually is not really open to the public, so just being here, experiencing the house itself, is quite unique.”
Mystery at 5120 runs on Friday and Saturday nights in October, with additional game slots on October 30 and Halloween. Guests can also choose the meal option for an extra cost, which includes finger foods, spreads and cookies, as well as a small bar with drinks for purchase.
Yo must be 21 or older to attend this event. Tickets are $39 to play the game and $59 if you would also like to have a meal beforehand. You can RSVP online here.
Margoza’s Galleon is located at 5120 N Nebraska Avenue in Tampa. To learn more about Mystery at 5120, click here.
