TAMPA, Fla.—Enjoy a carefully-crafted cheese and whiskey collection at Haven in SOHO Tampa.
Haven is a part of the Bern's Steak House family. The restaurant serves everything from charcuterie boards to fried chicken to filet mignon, all while providing a relaxing dining environment.
“We do really serious food here, but we don’t take ourselves too serious,” said Chad Johnson, executive chef at Haven. “I always joke that if I see somebody put their elbows on the table and eat with their hands, I take that as a complement.”
Haven is best known for its cheese and whiskey collections. Although the selection has been cut back due to COVID-19, the restaurant usually has more than 50 cheeses on the rotating menu. The amount of whiskey on-site fluctuates, but Haven currently has around 700 options!
On Wednesdays you can take part in Fried Chicken Night, which highlights a different fried chicken dish each week. The meal serves 2-4 people for $35, and the flavors each week range from traditional southern cuisine to Thai inspiration.
"Our menu never stays the same," said Johnson. "That's one thing I always tell people, is like...nothing on our menu is consistent, just the quality is consistent."
From August 18-September 1, Haven is participating in Tampa Bay Taco Takeover. Guests can enjoy three shaved beef tacos with coal roasted onions, danger sauce, cabbage, and smoked paprika to get a fourth taco free. They also have $5 Altos passion fruit margaritas to wash them down with.
