TAMPA, Fla. — Get a look at Tampa from a whole new perspective—water biking along the Hillsborough River!
Tampa Bay Water Bike Company near the Tampa Convention Center rents out water bikes for up to two hours. Guests can choose their own path: go north on the river and ride by downtown past the University of Tampa, take trip along Bayshore Boulevard and Davis Island, or venture further into the Hillsborough Bay to try and spot some dolphins.
Water bikes are $30 for adults and $25 for children (ages 15 and under) for an hour. The price goes up by $15 if you decide to add on a second hour. Tandem bikes as well as single and tandem kayaks are also available to rent.
You don't have to have experience with water bikes to try these out—guests will receive a quick safety orientation on how to operate them. The water bikes are very stable on the water, meaning guests don't have to worry about getting wet.
If you're looking for more fun on the water without the added exercise of biking, Tampa Bay Water Bike Co.'s sister company, Riverwalk Boating Company rents two-seater mini powerboats. No prior boating experience is required.
