ODESSA, Fla.—Spend a day hanging out with alpacas at Golden Spirit Alpaca Ranch! More than 200 alpacas are located on 117 acres of land spread out along Tarpon Springs Road.
Ranch tours are primarily offered on Saturdays and last an hour and a half. These tours teach people about alpaca behavior and habits—everything from the average life expectancy (around 16 years) to the difference between them and llamas (alpacas are noticeably smaller and a lot more timid).
You can also get up close and personal to feed and pet the alpacas in an enclosed area. Tours are $28.50 per person and can be booked here.
Alpacas are bred for their luxurious fiber, so make sure to check out the gift shop for yarn, sweaters, blankets, rugs and much more made from their fleece. Golden Spirit Alpaca also allows for people to adopt their alpacas and continue to board them on the ranch, starting at $35. All adoptions include the registration certificate, photo and information about the alpaca. To see how you can adopt, click here.
Golden Spirit Alpaca Ranch is located at 9317 Tarpon Springs Road in Odessa. Click here to learn more about the ranch.
