ST. PETERSBURG, Fla.—Fresh produce creates even fresher meals at Naked Farmer. This seasonal restaurant is new to Downtown St. Pete and has been bridging the gap between farm and community since it opened.

“Naked Farmer is a restaurant group that exists to build a better food system, one locally sourced meal at a time,” said founder Jordan Johnson.

The restaurant partners with farmers across Florida to bring local food to the community. Fresh produce is usually delivered within 2-3 days to the restaurant, creating fresher meals than restaurants that use produce harvested over a week ago.

Guests can create their own fresh bowls to dine-in or take to go. The menu and farms change 4-5 times per year, based on what is in season. The summer menu features items like charred broccoli, roasted sweet potatoes, avocado, mint watermelon and feta salad, and charred citrus or roasted rosemary free-range chicken. Food is kept simple and flavorful with lemon juice, salt, garlic or additional seasoning.

“You don’t have to do much to it, and that’s why we’re called ‘Naked Farmer’,” said Johnson.

Check out the full Summer menu here. This season’s farms include:

  • Olivor Heritage Farm (Dover, FL)
  • Brick Street Farms (St. Petersburg, FL)
  • Dakin Dairy (Myakka City, FL)
  • L&M Farm (Palatka, FL)
  • Providence Cattle Company (Dade City, FL)
  • J&J Farms (Deerfield, FL)
  • Waterkist Farm (Winter Park, FL)

Naked Farmer has two locations: the original is at 200 Central Avenue in Downtown St. Pete and they just opened their second location at Sparkman Wharf, located at 615 Channelside Drive in Tampa. Click here to learn more about what Naked Farmer has to offer.
