SAINT PETERSBURG, Fla. — If you’ve never created your own ice cream sandwich, now’s your chance. Sweet Stack Shack is located in Downtown St. Pete, and it is taking the ice cream game to a new level.

The beach-themed shop specializes in custom-made ice cream sandwiches, but will sell its cookies, brownies and ice cream individually as well. To create a sandwich, it’s as easy as choosing cookies or brownies for the ends (feel free to mix and match), an ice cream flavor and a topping. Then, the sandwich is heat pressed just enough to soften the cookies without melting the ice cream.

The ice cream sandwiches start at $5 and customers can choose from more than 1,400 sandwich combinations! For a really strong sugar craving, a double stack is always an option. This larger ice cream sandwich has two scoops of ice cream and an additional cookie or brownie in the middle.

The shop’s cookies are baked fresh every day and are “meant to go with ice cream”, according to general manager Shane Harriman. The cookies are purposefully not overly sweet in order to better compliment the ice cream they are served with.

Sweet Stack Shack offers a relaxing, beachy vibe in the middle of downtown’s Edge District. There is also a Sweet Stack Shack cart inside Tropicana Field that offers a smaller menu.
