BROOKSVILLE, Fla. - ABC Action News helps find homes for dogs and cats currently living in shelters every Friday morning our Pet of the Week segment.

This week we are featuring Sylvester. He is a 7-year-old black-and-white American Shorthair cat. He is a perfect gentleman for kitty lovers.

The Animal Rescue Friends Network helped save Sylvester from a hoarding situation. The conditions he was living in were horrible.

Sylvester is currently being housed by PetLuvSpay and Neuter Clinic in Brooksville. The clinic's director says he is the most roll-around, head-butting, in-your-face nuzzling lap cat he has ever seen.

Sylvester tested positive for Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV), but with him it is not likely a big deal as resistance to the virus increases with age. A positive FeLV test only means a cat has been exposed to the virus. Sylvester shows no symptoms and will probably live a long and healthy live.

You can learn more about how easy it can be to care for a cat with FeLV by clicking here.

The ARF'n adoption fee for cats starts at $20. If you are interested in bringing Sylvester into your home, either email info@arfn.org or fill out online application at www.arfn.org/adoption-application/.

The adoption process can take up to two weeks to complete to make sure a pet finds their perfect home.
