ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Each week ABC Action News attempts to help find a home for dogs currently housed in a local animal shelter.
This week we bring you an amazing pup from Pet Pal Animal Shelter.
Rita is an 8-month-old Pit Bull Terrier mix. She loves to go for walks, meet new people and dogs, play and run. In essence, Rita loves life.

According to the American Kennel Club, terriers are intelligent, good-natured dogs who are excellent guardians.
With the help of their “Guardian Angels,” all adopters of Pit Bulls from Pet Pal will go home with a crate, leash, collar, Kong toy and small bag of Science Diet. Also included is a free initial vet visit to Pet Pal Veterinary Clinic where a 1-month supply of heartworm and flea prevention will be provided.
A group training class will also be offered by a certified trainer to provide guidance in leadership skills for all family members.
Thanks to Rita's Pit Project Guardian Angel, Darlene Tennell, her adoption fee is only $75.
Rita is spayed, microchipped, vaccinated and dewormed. You must own your home to adopt her.
