ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — ABC Action News helps local animal shelters find homes for dogs every Friday morning in our Pet of the Week segment.
This week we bring you a quiet boy with an endearing smile. Navin comes from Pet Pal Animal Shelter. He is an 18-month-old Pit Bull Terrier mix.
According to the American Kennel Club, terriers are intelligent, good-natured dogs who are excellent guardians.
With the help of their “Guardian Angels,” all adopters of Pit Bulls from Pet Pal will go home with a crate, leash, collar, Kong toy and small bag of Science Diet. Also included is a free initial vet visit to Pet Pal Veterinary Clinic where a 1-month supply of heartworm and flea prevention will be provided.
A group training class will also be offered by a certified trainer to provide guidance in leadership skills for all family members.

Navin enjoys afternoon walks and will quickly become a devoted companion. He is currently bunking with another dog named Abner to help him come out of his shell.
Thanks to Darlene Tennell, Navin's Pit Project Guardian Angel, his adoption fee is only $75.
Navin is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and dewormed. You must own your home to adopt him.
For more information about how to adopt him or other animals from Pet Pal Animal Shelter, you can call them (727) 328-7738 or go online to www.petpalanimalshelter.com.
