ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — There are a lot of lovable animals in Tampa Bay area shelters that need to find homes during the pandemic. That is why ABC Action News brought our Pet of the Week segments.
This week we bring you an amazing pup from Pet Pal Animal Shelter. Luke is an 16-month-old Pit Bull Terrier. He is a sweet dog that is finally ready for adoption after months of care.
According to the American Kennel Club, terriers are intelligent, good-natured dogs who are excellent guardians.
Shelter workers say Luke arrived at Pet Pal with several issues, including a congenital deformity that required amputation. They believe he will make an amazing companion for someone.
With the help of their “Guardian Angels,” all adopters of Pit Bulls from Pet Pal will go home with a crate, leash, collar, Kong toy and small bag of Science Diet. Also included is a free initial vet visit to Pet Pal Veterinary Clinic where a 1-month supply of heartworm and flea prevention will be provided.
A group training class will also be offered by a certified trainer to provide guidance in leadership skills for all family members.
Thanks to Luke's Pit Project Guardian Angel, Danielle Micklitsch, his adoption fee is only $75.
Luke is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and dewormed. You must own your home to adopt him.
