ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — ABC Action News works with local shelters to help find homes for dogs every Friday morning in our Pet of the Week segment.

This week you have an opportunity to add a distinguished gentleman into your family. Caleb is a serious, 4-year-old Pit Bull Terrier mix looking for a loving home.

According to the American Kennel Club, terriers are intelligent, good-natured dogs who are excellent guardians.

With the help of their “Guardian Angels,” all adopters of Pit Bulls will go home with a crate, leash, collar, Kong toy, small bag of Science Diet, and a free initial vet visit at Pet Pal Veterinary Clinic where a 1-month supply of heartworm and flea prevention will be provided.

A group training class will also be offered by a certified trainer to provide guidance in leadership skills for all family members.

Caleb walks well on a leash and will make a quiet, devoted companion. Shelter workers say he is among the calmest dogs they have had.

Caleb is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and dewormed. Thanks to the Pit Project and his Guardian Angel, Sandy Clenney, his adoption fee is only $75. You must own your home to adopt him.
