The battle of the chicken sandwiches hit social media Monday.

After Popeyes released its first fried chicken sandwich nationwide last week to rave reviews, a few chain competitors chimed in to remind customers of the classic taste they love.

The Twitter feud started when Chick-fil-A essentially tweeted that they're not new to the game, they're true to the game — highlighting its sandwich as "the original."

Popeyes quickly replied by tweeting the question, "Y'all good?" sensing the closed-on-Sundays restaurant might have been a bit pressed about the new release.

The mocking tone of its tweet garnered a lot of attention. And of course, Wendy's couldn't stay out of the fray. The clapback queen herself tweeted this from her throne:

Popeyes was having none of it, and quickly responded with this seemingly self-deprecating deep-fried dig:

A couple of other fast food chains, including Shake Shack and Bojangles' Famous Chicken 'n Biscuits, tried to make a claim for their sandwich but were immediately shut down by some Twitter users.

It got so hot in the kitchen, Bojangles' went ahead and deleted their tweet.

Guess the only way to know which chicken sandwich reigns supreme is to try them all!
